The Lesson
Bambara, the author was attended college and come of age as a writer in 60's. She was at the forefront of radical politics and feminist. Her writing was written most to exposes the injustices and the inequalities imposed on African American. The lesson was about Sylvia who is the main character in the story; she was described by a young, poor, black girl growing up in Harlem. The story is about a trip initiated by local women, who being the only educated person in the neighborhood has taken it upon herself to against the unappreciative children of the neighborhood to the reader. And the compare between white and black children, which is the white children can have a toy was cost more than all the children’s household yearly incomes combined. I think the overall lesson is seem to make the reader through learning and experiencing can any positive change begin to occur. And not only educates about economic inequality, but it inspires people to make a change.

Descriptive Essay
“The Trip to the Countryside”
On a vacation to my mother’s country when I was twelve years old, it was my first time to go the country. I had never seen a real river with the trees or grasslands on two sides of the river. It was so dreamlike that I want to live there to look at that every day of my life. On one side of the river, it was my grandparent’s garden. The smell of the garden was brought by the wind; the whistle was caused by the wind and the grasses on the other side of the river, and the voices of the birds were so amazing.
The smell of the summer made all the grasses fresher and wealthier. The wind blew a little bit that made all the trees and grasses like dancing in the rhythm of it lyric. Standing in the middle of the garden made me felt like I was a part of our nature. The sun lighted the river, and the river becomes brighter like a diamond with the sparkles waves. The wind also flew away the hot of the summer and brought the water vapor from the river to everyone in town. Every time when I felt tired, I would take the hammock to the garden and set it next to the river to take a little nap, so it would relax my body and made me feel comfortable.
In the afternoon, setting on a pear tree and looking to the river, it was a quite surface of the river. Some waves started appearing when the wind blew up. If the wind stronger the waves would move heavier. There was a big farmland of my uncle in the other side. He doesn’t do anything for his land, so the only grasses grew up and took over his land. Combining the sound of the winds with the tall grasses over the river, the whistle sometimes was made. It started then stopped, started the stopped like a song was playing in an old reader, and it reduced the beautiful and lovely of the song. I grabbed the pear that was in my arm reach tried to reach a star-fruit on the next tree. Looing all around the garden, it still had mango, jack fruit, coconut tree, melon-tree, guava tree and custard apple tree. It didn’t have my favorite fruit which is the durian, but there still was the papaya. After finishing the pear and the star-fruit, I look a high chair to stand on under the coconut. I was tried to get one coconut down and cutting the head of the coconut off, I put the straw in and drink it. It cooled my body down after staying under the sun for a whole afternoon. Climbing on the tallest tree in the garden which was the mango tree to watch the sunset, it was so amazing that the sky changing in color. It turned from blue into yellow then orange to darker and darker and black finally. Night time took over the garden, and all the tree looked like they were tired after spending all day to play with me. They started to sleep to be ready for the next active day.
Early in the morning, there were so many birds that they competed with their voices. They sang too loud that would wake everyone up to start a new day. I woke up and ran to the garden to see how it looks in the morning. It was so wonderful! A cool air breathed next to my whole body got more strength to have fun for all day long. I grabbed a finish rod and dug to get more worms to go fishing. I sat next to the bridge that connected to my uncle’s land and started put the worm into the hook. The time went so fast that I didn’t recognize. Suddenly, three hours were passed and I got several catfishes and ready to bring the fish back to my grandparents to make for lunch.
I only spend three days weekends in my country, and I haven’t been there later. But the senses of my country always stayed in my mind. It starts from my eyes, my ears, my noses, and my taste through my skin. I had been sticking to my body for long time. And I never forget it, it was a great trip that I had in my memory. I hope one day in future I’ll be there to experience my mother hometown the second time.

a fim unfinished-quang vu

As i watch the movie was show where a ton of cameramen are sent to film scenes of day to-day life and horrific moments of depression and death. Jewish people were kicked out of their homes, mistreated and even killed, but no one should have to live a life such as this. Hersonski comprises interviews in this film with five survivors of the ghetto, who talk about what is captured on film and their lives under the Nazis. A female survivor being interviewed states, Jewish families weren’t aloud to live in more than one room. One room to a whole family is not right and no family should have to obey by these guidelines that the Nazis set out. The Nazis invade Poland and start rounding up Jews. They send them to ghettos in Poland. There are about many people in the ghetto of Warsaw.
at the Wan see Conference, the Nazis decide the final solution to the Jewish question. They decided to kill all of the Jewish people regardless the age or gender. For most Jews, this is the last time they will see their mother, father, or siblings. The Nazis killed thousands of Jews a day creating new techniques and killing methods to eliminate these Jews more rapidly. One technique is to take several Jews out in a mobile gas van and just wait for them to die from the gas. These vans are also known as hell vans. Adolf Hitler want to kill all Jew without any food and drink. This man and his sadistic secret diary believe that all Jews should be annihilated and people are following his orders. This period of time is very tragic and devastating. They had corpses laid out on the sidewalks. Jews were told to walk past them with their chins held high. The Jewish people never deserved to have gone through this gruesome punishment and mistreatment.

Edith Coliver

Edith Coliver was born in Karlsuhe, Germany in July of 1922. Edith was originally born Edith Simon and her parents’ names were Fritz and Hedwigg. She had two younger brothers named Ernest and Harold. Coliver’s family were a typical Jewish family, although Coliver’s mother was orthodox Jewish and the rest of the family was reformed.
In 1933, when Edith was ten, Hitler officially took over Germany. This caused a lot of changes in daily life for Edith and when Edith was a teenager she was not allowed to go to school anymore because of her Jewish heritage. Her family was moved  to the United States to New York where Coliver witnessed a demonstration of American protest against Hitler and the Communist movement. After New York her family settled down in San Francisco where Coliver attended high school and went to colleges. The reason Edith survived was because her family was able to get out of Europe to the United States before the killing started. Her consequence of surviving was to come back and participate in the trials held for the Germans. It was not easy for her, however, she felt it was necessary. Despite these challenges Edith developed a great career in translating and diplomacy for the United Nations. The next major event in Edith’s life was she wanted to be a part of the Nuremberg Trials. She was hired as a translator and was immediately sent to Europe. There she encountered many of the top German officials in Hitler’s regime. She also visited the displaced person’s camps. later she got married and had two kids.
